Pump.fun Rewards Creators with 50% Revenue Share in Memecoin Push

Pump.fun, a well-known memecoin launchpad, recently announced an innovative revenue-sharing model that allocates 50% of its revenues to creators. The platform has seen tremendous growth and transaction volume soaring. The project’s primary goal is to cement its platform as the go-to place for Solana-based memecoins to launch. By introducing this feature, they hope to continue encouraging creators and continue to spur activity on the platform.
Meanwhile, Pump.fun has shown impressive adoption across the Solana ecosystem. By 2025, the platform grew to $22.3 billion in volume. As of May 7, Pump.fun was averaging 2.8% of all protocol volume on Solana. Its impact on the ecosystem was especially evident in November 2024, when it was responsible for 62% of all Solana on-chain activity. This dominance in transaction count further highlights its popularity and the high level of activity that it helps to enable.
On May 12, Pump.fun announced a new revenue-sharing model. This gives it powerful economic alignment where token creators earn 50% of all trading fees their tokens generate on the platform. This includes 50% of PumpSwap revenue, meaning creators earn 0.05% in SOL every time their coins are traded! For example, if a token gets to $10 million in volume, its designers would make $5,000. Traders can claim their profits immediately, on-chain, through their Pump.fun account.
Even with all its success, Pump.fun has had its challenges, including fraud. Perhaps the best known incident was a 13-year-old’s that took over and disabled two Pump.fun projects. These types of incidents continue to demonstrate the dangers that exist within the memecoin ecosystem and the need for strong security practices.
Pump.fun’s innovative revenue-sharing model is just one part of a savvy play to extend its first-mover advantage in the memecoin launchpad space. The platform pays out a majority of its revenues to creators. Ultimately this strategy will help them bring in more projects and create a more vibrant, engaged community. In fact, adorable social-fun minting pump.fun is the most used protocol on Solana right now. We believe that its initiatives can really shake up the memecoin space and trading in general.
